Vision & Mission


The department vision is to continue to achieve national and international recognition through innovation in civil engineering education and research, and through the impact of our research and alumni in three focus areas: advanced infrastructure systems; environmental engineering, sustainability, and mechanics, materials and computing. Our vision includes our department being a collegial, collaborative and welcoming environment in which to learn and work.

To develop technically from Civil Engineering having ethics and human values by providing quality education enable them to do component in facing any challenges that may arise during the service in particular to the society and in the general to the nation


To provide conceptually strong technical knowledge relating to all the fields of civil engineering brace with professional ethics
To provide educate soft skill and make the students in the street ready to grab the opportunity in the field

To adopt the latest development in civil engineering to provide conductive environment for better teaching and learning process
To encourage students to participate in various technical events at Research Institute institutes of Higher Learning so that they develop the capability to serve the nation effectively
To attract and welcome graduate students into advanced study and to graduate Master of Science and Doctoral students who possess depth in their chosen focus area and are highly respected for their academic strengths, flexibility, and leadership;
To maintain an intellectually challenging and collaborative environment which is supportive and welcoming, and that enables and encourages our students, faculty and staff to achieve their best in a diverse community.

Shall be able to analyse, design and use skills in order to formulate and solve Civil Engineering problems.
Shall take up higher education and engage in research & development in Civil Engineering as well as applied areas of science & technology.
Shall learn to communicate their ideas in collaboration with other members of Civil Engineering teams.
Shall be able to practice Civil Engineering in a responsible, professional and ethical manner and implement eco-friendly sustainable technologies for the benefit of industry as well as society.
Shall develop an understanding of multi discrepancy approach and an ability to relate engineering issues to broader social and human context, in which their engineering contributions will be utilized.


PO: 1 Engineering knowledge: Graduates are expected to apply knowledge of science and mathematics in civil engineering problems.

PO: 2 Problem analyses: Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO: 3 Design/development of solutions Graduates will be able to use modern engineering Software’s, skills and computing tools required for solving various civil engineering problems.

Po: 4 Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO: 5 Modern tool usage Graduates will be able to provide the engineering solutions in effective and ingenious ways by making use of graphs and tables etc.

PO: 6 The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PO: 7 Environment and sustainability: Graduates will be able to analyse and design the structures as well as conduct experiments and interpret observations for reporting the results.

PO: 8 Ethics: Graduates are expected to be ethically responsible citizens. Graduates are expected to put civil engineering knowledge in practical.

PO: 9 Individual and team work: Graduates will be able to function individually as well as member of multidisciplinary teams to solve engineering and multidisciplinary problems with leadership qualities
